The TV star first started his health journey in 2007 when he stopped drinking.
A trainer then helped him expand his wellness, factoring in fitness.
Goodman was introduced to a 'Mediterranean-style eating plan,' which has a focus on fish, nuts, olive oil, vegetables and fruit.
It was also noted at the time that John exercises six days a week, making sure to take 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day using an elliptical bicycle and treadmill.
The actor has been open about his love of food, having said in the past to People: 'It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a*s and figure out what you're going to eat next. '
In 2016, John told Howard Stern: 'I took it slow. I just wanted to change my lifestyle' and admitted about his changed lifestyle: 'It's an ongoing process for the rest of my life.
'You look in the mirror everyday and go, "I gotta deal with this the rest of the day, I gotta deal with this schmuck?"'
The following year he told ABC of his fitness trajectory: 'In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack or whatever and just go back to my old habits.'

And in June 2023 the star told Rolling Stone that he had begun incorporating daily dog walks and boxing.
'It’s usually just an hour, hour and a half of hitting the mitts, hitting the bags, learning footwork. It’s great.'
But he noted, 'I never got good enough where I would trust myself to spar. Because once I get whacked in the face, I don’t know if I wouldn’t lose it.'
After a lapse in his health journey, he noted: 'I’m going to start again this summer where I can get some stuff done. I’ve just let everything go just because I haven’t had the energy because of the jobs.'
